MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian construction materials manufacturer OAO Keramin increased the output of industrial goods by 13.1% in Q1 2020 to over Br78.5 million in current prices, BelTA learned from the company's Deputy Director General for Manufacturing and Marketing Yevgeny Kostyukov.

According to the source, in 2019 Keramin's output exceeded Br312.7 million in current prices or slightly less than in 2018. “Meanwhile, we've managed to secure rather good export figures,” Yevgeny Kostyukov said. In 2019 Keramin's export was close to $52 million, with export in Q1 2020 at slightly more than $10.4 million. “The figure is lower than the figure registered in 2019, however, taking into account the current complicated situation and the lull on foreign target markets it is a good figure. Besides, we continue signing contracts and see buoyant demand for our products on the home market,” the executive said.

In January-March 2020 the share of exports in the total industrial output amounted to 29.8%, down from 36.8% in January-March 2019. Sales proceeds reached Br43.7 million in Q1 2020, down from Br45.2 million in Q1 2019. The profitability of sales in the first three months of 2020 reached 9.83% while the target was 1.6%. The stock in storage at the end of Q1 2020 totaled Br66.4 million or 253.9% of the average monthly output.

In January-March 2020 Keramin's fixed-capital investments totaled Br618,000. The figure was close to Br3.5 million in 2019. In Q1 2020 the average salary was close to Br1,200, 2.2% up from Q1 2019. The average salary stood at Br1,245 in 2019, 4.2% up from 2018.

Yevgeny Kostyukov noted that Keramin regularly masters the production of new products that enjoy strong demand, for instance, larger tiles. The company already manufactures 30x60cm and 25x75cm ceramic tiles. Keramin intends to start making 30x90cm ceramic tiles this year. According to Yevgeny Kostyukov, they will sell well in Belarus and abroad.

Apart from that, Keramin has started making ceramic tiles with an antibacterial effect. Thanks to the innovative technology Microban active chemical components are uniformly distributed in the glazed layer of the ceramic tile to enable an antibacterial effect. The product has a multitude of beneficial effects end users will surely love, the executive noted.
