ISLAMABAD, 25 November (BelTA) – Industrial cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan has great potential, Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov said as he met with his Pakistani counterpart Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Industries and Production, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry.
Aleksandr Yefimov emphasized that Pakistan is a reliable partner for Belarus in many areas of activity, especially in the manufacturing sector. “Joint efforts to deepen interaction resulted in launching joint production facilities, including the production of energy-intensive equipment,” the minister informed.
He went on saying that during the visit, enterprises of the two countries are discussing a number of strategically important mutually beneficial projects related to farm machines, utility vehicles and road construction equipment, as well as automotive industry.
During the negotiations, the Belarusian delegation confirmed its readiness to expand the range of agricultural machinery supplies and ship new types of sophisticated machinery to the Pakistani market. Aleksandr Yefimov emphasized that Belarus is interested in scaling up mutually beneficial cooperation across the board.
On 25 November, the industry minister of Belarus held a series of negotiations in Islamabad to discuss cooperation prospects in trade and manufacturing. He was flanked by heads of the largest enterprises of the Industry Ministry.
The press service noted that cooperation of the Industry Ministry enterprises with Pakistan this year has seen robust growth: in January-September the export rose by 8.5% year-on-year. Taking into account the mutual interest in promoting cooperation, this trend is expected to remain in place in H2 2024 and in 2025.
During the negotiations, the parties pointed to the significant potential for industrial cooperation, including great prospects to launch assembly production of agricultural machinery and equipment and a network of maintenance and sales facilities.
Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov is in Islamabad as part of the Belarusian delegation that accompanies the Belarusian president during his official visit to Pakistan.
