MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – Kyrgyzstan wants to see a single payment space in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov said at the online meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 21 May, BelTA has learned.
"We consider it necessary to intensify work on the development of the common financial market," the Kyrgyzstan leader said. "The last year has shown us that we need to simplify mutual access to financial markets."
He suggested focusing on cooperation in the currency market, making a more active use of national currencies in mutual settlements. "To do this, we need to think through the appropriate effective mechanism to stimulate trade and financial transactions in the national currencies of the EAEU states, including for the sake of offsetting the impact of external inflation on food products," the Kyrgyzstan president said.
"We should quickly form a single payment space using and integrating the national payment systems," he said.
