MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) - In January-August 2021 Belarusians bought $316 million worth of foreign currency more than they sold, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-August 2021 individuals bought the equivalent of $7.116 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $6.800 billion worth of foreign currency. The net purchase of foreign currency by individuals totaled $316 million.
In January-August 2021 Belarusian economic entities bought the equivalent of $16,750.5 billion and sold $17, 487.7 billion worth of foreign currency. The net purchase of foreign currency made up $737.2 million.
In January-August 2021 non-residents of Belarus bought $282.3 million worth of foreign currency and sold $638.6 million. The net purchase reached $356.3 million.
