EEC explains provisions of Eurasian Economic Way roadmap

MOSCOW, 22 December (BelTA) – The main provisions of the action plan (roadmap) on implementing the declaration on further advancement of economic processes within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union till 2030 and in the period till 2045 have been explained to BelTA by the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The roadmap on implementing the declaration on further advancement of economic processes within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union till 2030 and in the period till 2045 titled as the Eurasian Economic Way was signed on the sidelines of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council session held in St. Petersburg on 21 December. It includes a comprehensive set of systemic measures aimed at enhancing integration, aligning the level of economic development among EAEU member states, expanding areas of economic cooperation, and improving the regulatory environment.

Special attention is devoted by the roadmap to creating modern, technologically advanced, and stable business conditions through the implementation of the digital transformation agenda in key areas and sectors of integration cooperation: technical regulation, transport, trade, customs, and product marking using identification tools.

The document also includes initiatives to develop interaction and cooperation among the EAEU’s G5 member states in the field of artificial intelligence. Possible approaches to the legal protection of intellectual property objects created by artificial intelligence or using AI will be explored and a separate plan for developing AI cooperation for the 2026–2030 period will be prepared.

“The roadmap places special emphasis on unlocking the potential of integration for EAEU citizens,” the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) emphasized. “Cooperation will be developed to improve access to medical services for workers and their families in the country of employment, and approaches will be developed to establishing comfortable roaming tariffs for mobile communication services across all territories of the G5 member states.”

The document also highlights tasks related to international activities aimed at making sure that the EAEU functions as an economic attraction pole on the global stage.

“In total, the roadmap includes 340 activities targeting the implementation of 62 directions outlined by the declaration. Plans are in place to adopt approximately 130 regulatory acts, amend the EAEU Treaty and the Customs Code of the Union, and prepare over 100 analytical materials,” the EEC added.
