Brest meat plant partially cleared by Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) - Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) has lifted some restrictions on the import of products made by Brest Meat Packing Plant, BelTA learned from the website of the Russian agency.

The restrictions on the export of sausages, boneless beef, and poultry products from Brest Meat Packing Plant to Russia will be removed on 9 October. Rosselkhoznadzor said it made the decision after perusing materials sent by the Belarusian side, taking into account the measures taken to address the violations and in view of the guarantees issued by the Veterinary and Food Oversight Department of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

Restrictions remain in place on the supply of products as part of the ban related to African swine fever (ASF), and Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).

Eligible for the import to Russia are products made as from 9 October. The products shall be accompanied by digital veterinary certificates.
