MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim has confirmed the purchase of another batch of oil from Azerbaijan, BelTA has learned.
According to Belneftekhim, the tanker is supposed to arrive at the Yuzhny port on 2-4 September. The oil will be delivered to Mozyr Oil Refinery.
Ibragim Akhmedov, Deputy Head of the PR Department at the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), told the news agency Interfax Azerbaijan that the company intends to ship a batch of oil in excess of 90,000 tonnes to Belarus from the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
Earlier Belneftekhim Chairman Andrei Rybakov was quoted as saying that SOCAR may ship up to 1 million tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2020.
