MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian National Union of Consumer Societies Belkoopsoyuz surpassed its full-year 2024 export volume in just the first ten months of 2025, Chairperson of the Board of Belkoopsoyuz Inessa Korotkevich told the Economy of Belarus Magazine.
“We continue to increase supplies abroad. This includes not only traditional markets like Russia (growth rate 104.7%) and Kazakhstan (298%), but also new ones such as Cambodia (235%) and Thailand (158%). Our foreign buyers consistently demand meat products, fur raw materials, semi-processed leather from cattle hides, beef tripe, and other goods. New types of export-oriented products are emerging. For example, animal feed, of which more than 400 tonnes were exported in 2025,” Inessa Korotkevich said.
The fur farming sector of the consumer cooperation system is represented by the unitary enterprise Grodnokoopmekh, which operates two fur farms in Grodno District and Pinsk District. This sector is primarily export-oriented. In 2025, a roadmap for bilateral cooperation in 2025-2026 was signed in Shanghai with representatives of the China Leather and Fur Products Manufacturers Association. The document outlines a plan of activities to develop trade and economic relations, including increasing supplies of fur raw materials to China, exploring the possibility of establishing joint ventures for fur product manufacturing, and cooperating in personnel training, as well as exchanging expertise and technologies for cage animal breeding and production.
“Trading sessions on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange involving Russian and Chinese buyers were successfully concluded. All the presented lots were sold,” the chairperson of the Board of Belkoopsoyuz said.
