YEREVAN, 1 October (BelTA) - Regional integration solidarity is of particular importance in the current circumstances, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan, BelTA learned.
Roman Golovchenko noted that the world economy is facing a number of crisis trends today. "Almost everywhere we see an increase in the sovereign debt and fiscal burden. Key world currencies are losing trust. Contrary to the so-called values of globalization, which the so-called civilized countries have been vaunting for decades, what we see is the high-paced regionalization of the world market, which happened on their own initiative. There is a devaluation of international law and the authority of numerous international organizations, including economic ones. All of these factors create dangerous uncertainty in the global economy. In these difficult conditions, regional integration solidarity is of particular importance," he said.
In the EAEU, the member states successfully address food security issues, protect the common market from unfair competition and low-quality products, increase the localization of production and expand industrial cooperation. "Today we have a capacious domestic market with predictable conditions of access and work. We carry out mutual monitoring and assessment of regulatory practices in the field of business and public procurement," the prime minister of Belarus stressed.
The 3rd Eurasian Economic Forum is running in Yerevan on 30 September – 1 October 2024. It is co-located with the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of the heads of government of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and observer states. The event is held within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Armenia in the Eurasian Economic Union in 2024.
