Belarusian Grodno Azot, Tessenderlo Kerley International discuss business cooperation

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – OAO Grodno Azot has held negotiations with the Belgian company Tessenderlo Kerley International (TKI) to discuss business cooperation, representatives of the Belarusian company told BelTA.

The meeting was arranged upon the initiative of the Belgian company. Prospects of advancing relations between Grodno Azot and TKI were discussed. The delegations discussed future cooperation options as well as opportunities for cooperation with other Belarusian petrochemical companies.

Grodno Azot representatives also talked about the implementation of investment projects. In late February 2019 the company commissioned a new shop to make azotic acid and carbamide-ammonia mixture. The company has started building a new nitrogen complex. Companies from China, Switzerland, Italy, South Korea, France, and Japan showed interest in the project. Potential contractors have been given tender documents to prepare technical and commercial proposals to build the nitrogen complex using the turn-key approach. Bidders are supposed to submit their offers by 29 May 2019 at the latest. After that the works will be evaluated using special methods. The winner will be chosen and the relevant contract will be signed.

Tessenderlo Kerley International is part of Tessenderlo Group, which has been doing business with Belarus for many years. In particular, Tessenderlo Group has successfully worked with OAO Belaruskali for over 17 years already. The company intends to step up business relations with other Belarusian companies, including OAO Grodno Azot, for the sake of buying ammonia and other things.

OAO Grodno Azot is an internationally recognized company, which products are shipped to 35 countries. The company is aggressively modernizing and renewing its manufacturing facilities.
