MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) will assist export-oriented manufacturers from Russia’s Udmurt Republic in selling their products in Belarus by providing access to a wide range of consumers across various economic sectors, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.
This will allow Udmurt companies to use the BUCE electronic platform as an alternative to a distribution network and work with Belarusian partners without intermediaries. Consideration was given to this issue during an online seminar on exchange trading, organized by the Export Support Center of the Udmurt Republic Development Corporation as part of its cooperation with BUCE. The event brought together representatives of enterprises specializing in the production and distribution of pipe products, steel bars and wire, electric motors, gearboxes, as well as spare parts and components for railway rolling stock.
According to the head of the export support center Valeria Antonenko, a number of product lines manufactured in Udmurtia are in demand in Belarus. These include metal products, electrical equipment, measuring instruments, chemical products, and raw materials for the food industry. With over 29,000 users in Belarus, the exchange platform can become not only a virtual showcase but also a full-fledged sales channel for Udmurt enterprises.
“The exchange provides a convenient entry to the Belarusian market and enables producers and consumers to contact each other without intermediaries. Therefore, this is definitely a useful mechanism for Udmurt entrepreneurs that should be adopted in addition to traditional sales tools,” Valeria Antonenko believes.
Currently, 20 business entities from Udmurt Republic are accredited at BUCE. The exchange with this Russian region primarily consists of supplies of ferrous metal products for Belarus’ industrial sector.
Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
