MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Deputy Head of the Main Processing Industry Department of the Agriculture and Food Ministry Irina Barantsevich told journalists where Belarusian bakery products are supplied, BelTA reports.
The geography of sales includes more than 10 countries. Thanks to modern technologies (freezing, alcohol preservation, modified gas environment, etc.), Belarusian bread is exported to Russia and other CIS countries, the USA, Türkiye, Israel. “Our bread is loved in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan,” noted the representative of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Irina Barantsevich drew attention to differences in consumer preferences. “In Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and other Asian countries, white bread is preferred. Yet, the Belarusian bread market is dominated by rye-wheat varieties,” the specialist emphasized.
Export indicators for bread are showing growth. “Last year, they increased by 30% over 2023. This trend remains in place this year,” said Irina Barantsevich. “We are actively working to meet domestic market demand and to ramp up exports.”
She mentioned trial deliveries to the Chinese market, but consistent supply of goods of Belarusian bakery products to China has not yet been achieved.
