Belarus to get 1.13m tonnes of oil from Russia in May, work with alternative sources to continue

MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – Belarus will get 1.13 million tonnes of oil from Russia in May. Work with alternative sources will continue, BelTA learned from Press Secretary of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim Aleksandr Tishchenko.

The official said: “Plans for deliveries from Russia in May have been confirmed at 1.13 million tonnes of oil. Work will continue with alternative sources as well. Volumes will be determined depending on the situation on the domestic market and foreign ones.”

In his words, Belarus received about 2 million tonnes of oil in April as was planned.

As much as 1.56 million tonnes was delivered from Russia by pipeline and by rail. The rest was delivered by tankers and extracted in Belarus.

BelTA reported earlier that major Russian oil companies resumed oil deliveries to Belarus in April. Apart from that, in April a batch of Azerbaijani oil was delivered to Mozyr Oil Refinery via the Odessa port. OAO Naftan received a batch of Norwegian oil with transshipment in the Klaipeda port. Both tankers delivered 85,000 tonnes each.
