Belarus’ Industry Ministry enterprises invest nearly Br6bn over five years

MINSK, 5 January (BelTA) - Over the past five-year period, enterprises of the Belarusian Industry Ministry have invested about Br6 billion in development, and all organizations under the ministry have defined investment projects for the medium and long term, Dmitry Rukshin, Head of the Investment and Energy Resources Department of the Industry Ministry told to the Economy of Belarus Magazine.

“Belarusian industrial products occupy a certain niche on the world market, and our production potential is constantly developing. During the last five-year plan, for instance, MAZ constructed a new bus factory. In Orsha, a plant for cutting monolithic tools was established from the ground up, tools that used to be sourced from abroad. We also saw upgrades to the production facilities at BelAZ, Gomselmash, Bobruiskagromash, and other enterprises,” Dmitry Rukshin explained.

An important nuance in recent years is that organizations of the Industry Ministry are now offering not only products but are also ready to supply turnkey technologies. For instance, the BelAZ model range includes mining dump trucks powered by hydrogen, liquefied gas, and electricity.

“If you want to extract natural resources at depth, we will provide you with efficient machines and technologies. Planning to sow? We offer agricultural complexes of farm machinery and trailed equipment, and we will assist in developing the technology for their optimal use,” the department head added. He noted that the country’s development will proceed both through the improvement of the machine-building complex, the creation of new and the renewal of existing production facilities for traditional products (tractors, truck haulers, household appliances), and primarily through the intensive development of high-tech areas.
