MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – The government has approved a state program on the population safety infrastructure for 2026-2030. Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin signed the relevant resolution, the government’s press service told BelTA.
The funding of the state program for 2026-2030 has been set at Br452.02 million, including Br390.02 million from the republican budget and Br62 million from municipal budgets.
The state program includes two subprograms. The first one titled as the development of rescue infrastructure provides for building and rebuilding Emergencies Ministry structures and installations for storing and maintaining fire-fighting and rescue equipment and vehicles.
The second subprogram titled as radiation safety provides for accomplishing tasks designed to ensure protection from radiation (steps relating to radiation factors of the catastrophe at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, including the operation of the Polesie State Radiation and Ecological Reserve) and radiation safety (steps meant to provide scientific and technical support in the field of ensuring nuclear and radiation safety, analytical support and expert support in the field of ensuring the safety of nuclear installations and the handling of radioactive waste).
The government resolution has been prepared for the sake of ensuring the safety of the population, for the sake of neutralizing threats to national security due to the presence of nuclear legacy installations.
