MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - In January-September 2022, food exports from Belarus to China increased by more than 50% compared to the same period last year, Kseniya Meleshko, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activity of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, told BelTA.
According to Kseniya Meleshko, China is one of the major trade partners for processing companies in Belarus. “The export of food products is growing every year and in January-September 2022 the growth exceeded 50% compared to the same stretch of 2021. For the past several years China has taken the second place among more than 100 countries importing Belarusian products,” she said. A wide range of products is shipped to China. Among them is beef, poultry, consumer packaged milk, dried milk products, rapeseed oil, confectionery products and others.
According to the Economy Ministry, the mutual trade between Belarus and China increased by 11% to reach $4 billion in January-August 2022. Overall, exports of Belarusian goods to China more than doubled to make up $1.2 billion and significantly exceed the total for the 2021 year.
