MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Finance Ministry welcomes the U.S. steps to lift previously imposed restrictions on the Ministry itself and a number of Belarusian banks, BelTA learned from the ministry.
The Finance Ministry stressed that such moves create favorable conditions for restoring trust between international capital market participants.
“The Ministry traditionally opposes the use of any non-market mechanisms in international finance and consistently advocates for the development of cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and consideration of the interests of all parties,” the ministry noted. “We remain open to dialogue with partners who share this approach.”
On 19 March, it became known that the USA is lifting sanctions against Belinvestbank, the Development Bank, and the Finance Ministry. The Belarusian Potash Company and Belaruskali have also been excluded from all sanctions lists.
