MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba Vitaly Borchuk attended the fourth meeting of the joint commission on cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the government of Cuba as the official representative of the country chairing the EAEU bodies in 2025, BelTA learned from the Embassy of Belarus in Cuba.
The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission delivered a welcoming address in which he highlighted the integration achievements of the EAEU and outlined the priority areas of the Belarusian presidency's program. These include innovative cooperation, economic integration, enhancing food security, advancing digitalization, import-substitution projects, including industrial cooperation, humanitarian collaboration and also promoting the EAEU as a pole of international economic attraction.
The event was also attended by Daniyar Imanaliyev, Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (Co-Chair), and Russian Ambassador to Cuba Viktor Koronelli. On the Cuban side, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, along with the Ministers of transport, industry, and tourism of the Republic of Cuba.
