Belarusian MAZ joins International Association of Urban Electric Transport Enterprises

MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile manufacturer MAZ has joined the International Association of Urban Electric Transport Enterprises, the company’s press service told BelTA.

The vote on membership took place during an online session of the association’s board. The decision was supported unanimously, the MAZ press service noted. During the meeting MAZ Deputy Director for Marketing Oksana Mikheyeva presented the range of electric vehicles the company makes, emphasizing the technological advantages and development prospects of the brand.
The proposal to join the professional community was made to Minsk Automobile Plant by the association’s President Andrei Lyzin, who also heads the St. Petersburg automobile passenger transportation company Passazhiravtotrans, and confirms MAZ’s significant expertise in the development and production of electric vehicles.

The International Association of Urban Electric Transport Enterprises brings together tram and trolleybus companies, manufacturers of rolling stock, special equipment, components, and tram and trolleybus road communications, scientific firms and design institutes, service providers, and electric water transport. These are enterprises and organizations from the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Germany, Poland, and Czechia.
