MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – Belarusian observers have arrived in Thailand to monitor major electoral events scheduled for 8 February 2026, BelTA reports citing the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The mission consists of CEC member Andrei Gurzhy and a representative of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee in charge of election affairs Olga Demko.
This Sunday, two major events are to be held: the election to the House of Representatives and a nationwide referendum.
Thai citizens will elect 500 deputies, with 400 coming from single-member constituencies and 100 from party lists. The political party or coalition that secures at least 251 seats will earn the right to form a new government. According to data from the Election Commission of Thailand, 57 political parties are competing for seats in the House of Representatives.
