
MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Belarus plans to expand rail freight transport with China, First Deputy Head of the Belarusian Railways Aleksandr Khoroshevich said during at the 3rd international freight conference "2025. Railway Logistics: Current Development Challenges”, BelTA has learned.
"The volume of rail freight transport between Belarus and China has reached a new level. In 2021, Belarus sent 151 freight trains to China. In 2024, this number exceeded 1,500. We plan to further increase freight volumes in 2025," Aleksandr Khoroshevich stated.
Belarus is implementing new projects with international transport companies to develop the freight transport business and enhance logistical potential. There is an extensive network of transport and logistics hubs and freight terminals located in key areas of highest freight traffic and near developing and already established industrial sites.
The international freight conference brought together over 200 participants from nine countries, including officials and representatives of Belarusian government agencies and enterprises, railway administrations, transport companies and ports of partner countries.
