Universities of Belarus, Turkey discuss joint projects

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – A delegation of Ankara University, Turkey's oldest higher learning institution, is on a visit to Belarus on 15-17 October. The delegation is led by Vice-Rector Dr. Ayhan Elmali, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Turkey.

The Turkish delegation is set to visit Belarus' leading universities. On 15 October they met with the administration of Belarusian State University to discuss forms and areas of academic cooperation, to share views on implementing joint projects in the short-term perspective, and to discuss a possibility to launch joint academic programs, including a joint pre-university education center where Turkish nationals will receive the necessary training in order to get enrolled at Belarusian higher learning institutions.

The Turkish delegation met with representatives of the faculties of pre-university education, radiophysics and computer technologies, and biology to study their curricular and research projects.

On 16 October the delegation of Ankara University is scheduled to meet with the administrations of Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State Technological University and Belarusian State Medical University.

Apart from that, on 17 October the Turkish delegation will have a meeting at the Belarusian Education Ministry.
