Sixteen countries to partake in computer science congress in Minsk

MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Some 300 information and technology specialists will take part in the International Congress on Computer Science: Information Systems and Technologies that will kick off at Belarusian State University (BSU) on 25 October, BelTA learned from the BSU press service. The event will mark the 95th anniversary of the founding of the university.

The congress will bring together representatives of sixteen countries, including Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Lithuania, Germany, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Poland, Italy, Moldova, Japan and Austria.

The three-day forum will include plenary sessions and discussions in twelve breakout sections on aerospace information and telecommunication systems and technologies, bioinformatics and applications, high-tech learning environment, geoinformation systems, information security and computer data analysis, and intellectual information systems. Some 220 reports will be presented at the congress.

The list of events to celebrate the 95th anniversary of BSU's founding also includes an international youth forum that will bring together leaders of students' unions from Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Greece, Slovakia, Russia, Azerbaijan, China and Germany. The young leaders will meet with Belarusian government authorities, visit the Hi-Tech Park and the Wargaming company, and attend business management workshops.

The main celebration event will be held at the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus on 28 October.
