Plans to expand Belarus-Iran cooperation in law enforcement

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran intend to intensify cooperation in law enforcement, BelTA learned from the official website of the Belarusian Interior Ministry.

Today the ministry hosted a meeting between Belarusian Interior Minister Igor Shunevich and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Mustafa Oveisi.

The Belarusian official confirmed readiness to expand cooperation in tackling international terrorism, illicit drug trade, human trafficking, and high-technology crime. In turn, Mustafa Oveisi noted that the Belarus-Iran dialogue is gaining momentum in different fields due to the policy pursued by their respective leaders. He stressed he will be closely engaged in Belarusian-Iranian ministerial dialogues and will make a fair contribution to the further promotion of collaboration in law enforcement.
