Minsk airport passenger numbers up 30% in January-March

MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Passenger traffic via Minsk National Airport increased by 28.2% in January-March 2017 from the same period last year, BelTA learned from the website of the airport.

In March 2017 Minsk Airport saw 263,000 passengers travel through its doors, an increase of 29.4%. Since the start of the year, the number of airport users has exceeded 733,570 people, up 28.2% on last year.

In March 2017 the airport serviced 1,806 flights including 1,653 regular and 110 charter flights, which was up by 10.1% as against March 2016.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport is home to the national air carrier Belavia as well as cargo carriers Transaviaexport, Rubystar, and Genex. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.y
