Kochanova: Veterans are honored and respected in Belarus

MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – Veterans are especially honored and respected in Belarus, Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Kochanova told reporters on 28 July, BelTA informs.

Natalia Kochanova took part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Michurin. Apart from the vice premier, the ceremony in the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War was attended by chief inspector for Minsk Alexander Yakobson, Chairman of the Minsk City Hall Andrei Shorets, Deputy Labor and Social Security Minister Alexander Rumak, Aide to the Defense Minister for Ideological Work in the Armed Forces – head of the main ideology department at the Defense Ministry Alexander Gura, representatives of public associations and political parties, youth organizations.

Speaking about Vasily Michurin, the deputy prime minister of Belarus said that he is a unique person who has dedicated his life and knowledge to serviing the Homeland and people.

Natalia Kochanova stressed that the attitude to veterans characterizes the society in general. “Veterans are especially honored and respected in our country. We congratulate the veteran at the Great Patriotic War Museum for a reason. These people protected the freedom and independence of our country. We are living in such a beautiful country thanks to the veterans,” the vice premier said.

In her words, the state supports veterans in various fields, including healthcare. At the same time, the attention of the society is especially important for veterans, the vice premier believes. “The main thing is the care if people, good attitude to veterans who, of course, deserve it,” Natalia Kochanova concluded.
