Italy, Poland observers to fly over Belarus, Russia under Open Skies Treaty

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – An Italian-Polish mission will take part in an observation flight over Russia and Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Defense Ministry of Belarus.

The flight will be made on board a Romanian AN-30 observation aircraft within the framework of the Open Skies Treaty from 28 August to 1 September. The flight is to monitor the military activities in the territories of the observed states.

“From 28 August till 8 September the department of international military cooperation at the Defense Ministry will host a course on the implementation of the international arms control treaties for representatives of the OSCE participating states,” the press service informed. The event will be attended by 13 representatives from Austria, Britain, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, France, the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan.
