Israel's MASHAV to foster cooperation with Belarusian rescuers

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Experts of Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV) are in Belarus in a visit to share their best practices with the Belarusian rescuers, BelTA learned from Vitaly Novitsky, the official representative of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.

“During the Safety of the Society workshop running in Minsk on 11-14 September the MASHAV experts will share Israel's best practices in emergency response and training of civilians for emergencies, cooperation between the rescue services and the press, crisis situations management and evacuation of the population under different conditions," Vitaly Novitsky said.

Attending the workshop are the employees of the national center for control and response to emergencies of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry, the University of Civil Protection of the Emergencies Ministry and official representatives of the territorial divisions of the agency.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Belarus Alon Shoham. Belarus' Deputy Emergencies Minister Alexander Khudoleyev opened the workshop and welcomed the participants. The Ambassador of Israel got acquainted with the activity of the national center for control and response to emergencies.
