Guangchao Zhao: Tourism bring people of Belarus and China closer together

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The promotion of cooperation in tourism between Beijing and Belarus will help strengthen the Belarusian-Chinese friendship and strategic partnership, Chairman of the Beijing Tourism Development Committee Guangchao Zhao said speaking at the presentation of the tourism potential of Beijing in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“Tourism helps bring the two nations closer together, learn more about each other to step up cooperation in all the areas. We would like to see as many Belarusian tourists in Beijing as possible and are ready to assist an increase of tourist flows to Belarus,” Guangchao Zhao said. The Chinese guest spoke about the landmarks of the Chinese capital, including those inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Director of National Tourism Agency of Belarus Veronika Dorozhko stressed that the Belarusian-Chinese tourist exchange has considerably increased in the recent years.

The event featured the presentation of Air China, which operates direct Beijing-Minsk-Beijing flights. This is the only airline that connects the capital of Belarus and China. Air China (part of Star Alliance) operates 26 European routes

Participants of the event got familiar with the tourism potential of Beijing, its culture and traditions, took part in a lottery game and exchanged contacts with the Chinese big travel agencies UTour and China Youth Travel Service that work on receiving foreign tourists, offering tours for groups and individual tourists from Belarus and sending a big number of travelers to Belarus.

A representative of UTour expressed confidence that the event would help establish contacts between Chinese and Belarusian partners. A representative of China Youth Travel Service pointed to a professional destination service provider China Travel Depot which offers about 600 routes to 80 cities of China.
