SHKLOV, 25 May (BelTA0 – Kupalye festival ( Alexandria Gathers Friends), which will be held in the agro-town Alexandria, Shklov District on 8-9 July), will culminate in the music and circus performance “Dreaming on Kupalye Night”, Yelena Bobrova, first deputy head of the ideology, culture and youth affairs department at the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, said at an onsite meeting to discuss the organization of the event.

The show on the main stage of the festival on 8 July will feature singers and circus artists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The circus sets will have a single storyline. Entertaining musical interludes will be performed by circus artists and popular singers. The interludes will show the Ivan Kupala traditions of different countries. Singer Stas Piekha from Russia and People's Artist of Ukraine Iryna Bilyk have already confirmed their participation.

The grand show will wrap up with a fireworks festival and a laser show. “The preparations for one of Belarus' key cultural events are already in full swing. We have held negotiations on the participation with artists, musicians, teams and folk artists from 8 countries. Tickets are on sale, including online. This year the holiday will be even larger and more creative. We hope it will draw by more than 100,000 people,” said Andrei Kuntsevich, the deputy head of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.

For the first time in Alexandria, the guests will be able to participate in Finding The Fern Flower quest, based on the traditional culture of the Belarusians. The best traditional Kupalye wreath will be chosen at a special contest. Folk music and dance groups, artisans and craftsmen from the neighboring countries have also been invited to the festival to present their traditional rites and cuisine. The festival's program includes many spectacular contests, presentations, exhibitions, and workshops.

As usual, there will be a lot of delicious foods and drinks, games and amusements for children, and breathtaking shows for their parents, including an airshow.

The celebrations will traditionally take place on the bank of the Dnieper river, near the bridge that connects two settlements, Alexandria and Kopys, and also two oblasts, Mogilev and Vitebsk.
