MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – The construction of the multipurpose Gazprom Center in Minsk is supposed to resume by the end of the year, BelTA learned from Dmitry Gurinenko, Chairman of the Construction and Investments Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, on 8 August.
The official said: “Restoration work in the pile field is nearing completion. The company assures us it will resume construction by the end of the year.”
Dmitry Gurinenko talked about other significant projects, too. In particular, there are plans to start work at the former BelExpo site by the end of this year or early next year. The company KPI Development is nearly done working out the design specifications and estimates.
Silver Capital Company intends to finish designing by October in order to start working at the site of the Chervensky marketplace in 2019. Facades of the mothballed buildings near the Belarusian State Circus are being restored. “Heat insulation and roofing have been replaced. Minor defects are being fixed. We expect the company to start work inside the building by the end of the year. The external look will be beautiful by November,” assured Dmitry Gurinenko.
The official went on saying that the investor has not yet made up its mind about the functional purpose of the building. Several concepts are under consideration. Building a BPS-Sberbank office is one of them. Opening an apartment hotel is another possibility.
BelTA reported earlier that the construction of the multipurpose Gazprom Center began in 2015. The facility is supposed to open by the end of 2020. The Italian company Codest is the general contractor. OAO Gazprom Transgaz Belarus is the investor and the customer.
