China to supply two MRI scanners to Belarus

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – China will supply two permanent-magnet magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to Belarus. The decision is contained in an agreement between the governments of Belarus and China concluded through an exchange of letters on 14 May 2015. The information was published on the national legal Internet portal 2 October, BelTA has learned.

The document reads that the Chinese government will supply two permanent-magnet MRI scanners to Belarus. The Chinese side undertakes to provide technical documentation for the scanners, deliver them to Minsk, and later send specialists to install and adjust the machines and instruct Belarusian personnel on how to use them. All the expenses, including transport insurance, will be financed from the funds given as technical and economic aid in line with the agreement on technical and economic cooperation signed by the governments of Belarus and China on 18 September 2011.

For its part, the Belarusian side undertakes to carry out customs clearance, receive the scanners, ship them to the installation site and ensure their safe storage, prepare project documentation, perform construction and shielding works at MRI rooms, and provide assistance to Chinese specialists who will mount the equipment. All the associated expenses will be covered by the Belarusian side.

As soon as the scanners are delivered and installed, Belarus and China will jointly check the quality, quantity, and specifications of the equipment and sign transfer and acceptance acts.
