BelTA unveils photo exhibition Chernobyl: Thirty Years On

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – The new project of the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA), the photo exhibition Chernobyl: Thirty Years On, is dedicated to the process of restoration and the beginning of new life in the regions affected by the Chernobyl nuclear accident.

The exposition of BelTA including about 50 photos is the photo chronicle of landmark events, places and people telling us about the difficult periods in the lives of Belarusians. Unique black-and-white and color photos made in the period from 1986 till 2016 illustrate the past 30 years, show people who helped restore productive life in many Belarusian regions. This project prepared by the team of BelTA photographers honors all people who have made a contribution to the revival of the native land.

The photo exhibition of BelTA which is on display at the National Academy of Sciences on 19-21 April will be attended by the participants and guests of the international conference dedicated to the international contribution of scientists and creative figures of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine to the mitigation of the Chernobyl consequences.

The participants of the forum will discuss the lessons of one of the biggest man-made disasters of the present era, share the best practices in land rehabilitation, and dispel and number of myths around the Chernobyl accident.
