BREST, 5 June (BelTA) – Thirty school students from Russia's Bryansk Oblast have improved their health at Svitanok Children's Wellness Center in Pinsk District, Belarus, BelTA learned from Svitanok Director Valentina Begeba.
The Russian kids living in the areas affected by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant underwent treatment at the Belarusian center as part of a Belarus-Russia Union State program. Together with the Russian children, visiting the wellness center were also 25 school students from Belarus' Stolin District. Their treatment was also financed from the budget of the Union State.
“The children have become friends over the past three weeks. The health improvement procedures were complemented with an entertainment program. For instance, they visited the Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Brest Fortress, and the city of Pinsk. Closer to the end of the session, we had a themed evening that was a real celebration. The children received letters of appreciation for their contribution to strengthening the ties between young Belarusians and Russians,” Valentina Begeba said.
Svitanok Children's Wellness Center won the tender of the Union State Standing Committee for the provision of health improvement services to Belarusian and Russian children for the third time. A total of 200 kids will undergo treatment at the center this year. Svitanok will welcome children from Russia's Kaluga, Tula, and also from Belarus' Luninets District.
Chabarok Wellness Center in Baranovichi District, Brest Oblast is another winner of the tender. Eighty veterans of the Great Patriotic War from Belarus and Russia will undergo treatment at the center as part of the Union State-funded program.
