Belarusian students hone language skills at Hungary's translators camp

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Belarusian students are honing their Hungarian language skills in a translators camp in Hungary, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Hungary.

The official opening of the summer camp of translators of the People's University in Lakitelek for students, teachers and philologists that learn Hungarian or translate Hungarian texts took place with the participation of representatives of the Belarusian embassy on 10 August. This year the Belarusian-Hungarian camp for Belarusian students learning Hungarian has been organized for the first time.

Attending the event were representatives of the National Assembly of Hungary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and the diplomatic corps.

At the event the representatives of the Belarusian embassy met with Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Sandor Lezsak to discuss the Belarusian-Hungarian humanitarian cooperation and strengthening of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations.

The People's University of Lakitelek is a public organization set up under the patronage of Sandor Lezsak. The main activity of the university is to enhance the qualifications of Hungarian-Russian, Hungarian-Ukrainian translators and Hungarian Slavists. The university runs a summer camp for translators, which offers includes lessons and master classes for Hungarians working with the Russian language and representatives of other countries doing translations from Hungarian.
