Belarusian self-propelled anti-armor RC robot presented at MILEX 2017

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – The self-propelled anti-armor robot Bogomol (mantis) was presented during the eighth international defense technology expo MILEX 2017 in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The robot is designed to destroy well-defended ground targets, combat tanks, armored vehicles, and hovering helicopters at any time of the day and night in an automated mode.

The Bogomol system is based on a self-propelled remotely controlled tracked chassis that can cross rough terrain. The complex consists of a moving robot and an automated operator workstation. The operator can control the robot wirelessly up to 300m away.

Andrei Anisimov, head of the design department of the Belarusian company BSVT – New Technologies (the R&D division of the Belarusian defense products exporter Belspetsvneshtechnika), explained that they started working on the Bogomol system in late 2016. For now the systems are sold to individual customers. “If the Belarusian army shows interest in the product, we are always open to cooperation,” he said.
