Belarusian scientists develop technology to make 3D printing supplies

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Belarusian scientists have come up with a technology to make 3D printing supplies, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee.

In accordance with the 2016-2020 state innovative development program, the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials of Belarus' National Academy of Sciences has launched the trial production of composite materials on the basis of Belarusian-made thermoplastics for extrusive 3D printing. Under this project, the scientists have developed the formulas and a technology to make 3D printing supplies, and also started producing composite materials for 3D printing in small amounts, which are based on polymer raw materials made in Belarus.

Belarus' state innovative development program for 2016-2020 is designed to ensure a qualitative growth and competitiveness of the country's economy and direct the resources towards forming its high-technology sectors.
