Belarusian KB Radar to showcase Vostok 3D radar at MILEX 2017

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – The mobile digital three-dimensional radar Vostok 3D will be showcased as a scaled model during the defense technology expo MILEX 2017, BelTA learned from the website of the State Defense Industries Committee of Belarus (the State Military Industrial Committee).

The Vostok 3D radar has been developed solely in Belarus and can substitute foreign products. Made by KB Radar, the managing company of the holding company Radar Systems, it is designed to detect aerial targets, measure their distance and bearing, altitude and radial velocity. The radar station can also automatically track trajectories of targets, recognize the target's class, and feed the resultant data to an integrated control system.

The new product has all the advantages of its predecessor — the two-dimensional VHF radar Vostok E/D. The Vostok 3D radar is mounted on one vehicle and combines advantages of VHF range finders and UHF height finders in one package. The VHF wave band allows detecting aircraft that employ stealth technologies. The UHF wave band greatly improves measuring precision and target detection (the radar can see two targets separately).

In a combat situation the height finder will be used intermittently in order to protect the radar from radar-homing missiles. The protection will be on par with that enjoyed by VHF radars. The Vostok 3D radar station boasts high precision parameters, reliability, jamming resistance, and low-detection operation.

In Minsk Arena the Belarusian company KB Radar will demonstrate the defense technology products that the Belarusian army has now and that have been upgraded since the previous expo in addition to the latest products, which include radio location solutions implementing state-of-the-art radio location and radio signal processing techniques. The Belarusian company will also demonstrate radio warfare solutions, communications surveillance and radio control solutions. Those include the low-altitude target detection radar Rosa-RB and the radio warfare systems lineup Groza.
