Belarusian capital presents its culture during Minsk Days in Moscow

MOSCOW, 11 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian capital has showcased a wide cultural program during the Minsk Days in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

Thus, the concert of friendship Belarus-Russia that took place at the Helikon Opera Theater on 10 October was an official opening ceremony of the Days. The concert featured the Belarus Presidential Orchestra under the baton of Viktor Babarikin, People's Artist of Belarus Anatoly Yarmolenko, Chistyi Golos band, Piotr Yelfimov, Ivan Vabishchevich, soloists of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus Ilya Silchukov and Yelena Shvedova.

On the same day the exposition entitled as Minsk – a city under the sun of centuries opened in the Museum of Moscow. The exhibition has been prepared by the Minsk History Museum. The exhibition celebrates 950 years of Minsk and depicts the city's development milestones. The first section of the exposition is dedicated to Minsk as a center of the Polotsk principality during the 11th-13th centuries. The second section shows Minsk as a center of the voivodship in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Rzeczpospolita. The Provincial Minsk section tells the story of the city of 1793-1917. The fourth section of the exposition, From the capital of the Belorusskaya Soviet Socialist Republic to the capital of the sovereign state – the Republic of Belarus, showcases new urban buildings of the 1930s.

Moscow is also hosting the performance of the Minsk folk bands, including the Belarusian state dance company Khoroshki, the folk song and music band Svitanak, and the folk ensemble Bely Ptakh.
