Belarusian army officers to observe wargames in Sweden, Poland

MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Representatives of the Belarusian army will observe army exercises in Sweden and Poland, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry website.

Two representatives of the Belarusian army will be sent to observe the multinational wargames Aurora 2017 in Sweden and another two will be sent to watch the Dragon 2017 exercise in Poland. About 12,000 military personnel will be involved in the former and about 17,000 in the latter. An inspection team from Belarus will inspect a designated area in Poland as part of the 2011 Vienna Document on Confidence- and Security-Building Measures.

Apart from that, a joint observation mission of Romania and Germany will fly over Belarus and Russia on 25-29 September in line with the Open Skies Treaty. The flight is supposed to keep an eye on military activities in the two countries.
