Belarus university admission test results ‘better this year'

MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – The results of the 2017 university centralized test campaign was 10-15% better than last year, Belarus' Vice Premier Vasily Zharko told the media on 15 August, BelTA has learned.

“The results of the tests across 11 subjects are 10-15% better this year than last year. This year we have started revising the compliance of tests with the school curriculum. This work will be continued. The president instructed to revise all the tests before the next university admission campaign. All of them should comply with the secondary school curriculum,” Vasily Zharko said.

In his words, the university admission testing was held in a calm atmosphere. “The state entrance examination commissions and the corresponding commissions set up in Minsk and the regions are operating well. All the commissions have hotlines. We have received only 16 oral and 11 written addresses which got full answers. They mainly pertained to the university admission rules and the application procedures,” said the vice premier.

In 2017 the university tests were written by 90,100 people, of them 303 got 100% results in one of the tests (11 entrants got 100% in two subjects).
