Belarus suggests closer mass media cooperation to Kostroma Oblast

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarus suggests expanding cooperation in the information sector to Kostroma Oblast, Lilia Ananich, Information Minister, Head of the Working Group on Belarus-Kostroma Oblast Cooperation, said during a working meeting with Kostroma Oblast Governor Sergei Sitnikov, BelTA has learned.

Lilia Ananich expressed hope that residents of Kostroma Oblast would be able to watch the international TV channel Belarus 24. The themes of information cooperation were actively discussed at the 3rd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. Then the parties emphasized the importance of the regional media cooperation, including certain TV channels. According to the minister, TV channels should exchange good programs and establish closer contacts.

Lilia Ananich is confident that the two regions need more active cooperation in the cultural sector as well. 2016 was the Year of Culture in Belarus. The country has a lot to bring and show to the people of Kostroma Oblast.
