Belarus' Embassy in Italy checking on any Belarusians among quake victims

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian embassy in Italy is in touch with the local authorities checking whether any Belarusian nationals have been affected by an earthquake that struck central Italy, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A magnitude 6.3 quake left four people dead in the town of Accumoli and killed at least two people in Amatrice.

There were also reports of serious damage in the town of Amatrice. There has been a landslide and roads have been destroyed there. There are people under the rubble. According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the epicenter of the quake was to the west of the town of Ascoli Piceno and the north of L'Aquila.
