Belarus, Bashkortostan to develop cooperation in forestry education

MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian national center for professional advancement of forestry specialists and the Ministry of Forestry of Bashkortostan signed an agreement on cooperation in forestry education, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry.

“The document is aimed at improving interaction between the parties in adopting coordinated measures in additional education for adults in part of vocational training, advanced training and retraining of forestry workers,” the press service said.

Among the main areas of cooperation is the joint development of standard educational programs and normative legal acts, the information exchange in vocational training, advanced training and retraining of forestry workers, participation in relevant national and international congresses, seminars, conferences, and symposiums.

Under the document the parties will study the possibility of using distance learning in scientific and educational institutions that provide services for vocational training (training), advanced training and retraining of forestry workers.

The signing of this agreement became possible after an official visit of the delegation of Bashkortostan to Belarus in April 2018. During the visit, the parties exchanged views on the status and ways of improving the educational process to train forestry and logging specialists and drivers. The parties also discussed prospects for further development of bilateral relations in educational and forestry technologies, and also the training of teaching personnel.

The Belarusian national center for professional advancement of forestry specialists was established in 2001. Annually the training center and its branches in Beshenkovichi and Mozyr are attended by about 3,000 students. The center specializes in three areas: enhancement of qualifications (managers and specialists), training and retraining of workers. The center is popular among Belarusian and foreign specialists.
