All Belarusian cities to join utility service web portal by 2018 year-end

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – The 115.бел web portal should be made available to all major Belarusian cities by 2018 year-end. The matter was discussed as Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov visited the Information Technology Center of the Minsk City Hall during the nationwide seminar on the improvement of Belarus' housing and utilities sector, BelTA has learned.

For the time being, the web portal entitled My City is available in Minsk (since November 2015) and Vitebsk (since August 2017). In accordance with the government's instruction, every Belarusian city with over 100,000 people should sign up to the portal by the end of 2018. Andrei Kobyakov added that smaller cities can also join the portal if they want to.

Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin specified that Brest and Grodno are gearing up for joining the project. “This is a tried-and-true technology; the plan of action and software are in place. Now the governors need to show their will for the system to become available and transparent, and provide feedback from the population,” the deputy prime minister underlined.

The My City 115.бел web portal was designed to send day-to-day requests regarding housing and utility services in Minsk, with relevant problems being attached to the city map. The portal enables users to keep track of the current status of the request they submitted and analyze the results of the work in the before/after format. The citizens can have an impact on the ranking of a utility company, evaluating the quality of the work done.
