MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Belarus will take additional measures to restrict the import of pork from Poland's Masovian Voivodeship, Lublin Voivodeship, Podlaskie Voivodeship and Ukraine's Poltava Oblast after new cases of African swine fever have been reported in these areas, BelTA learned from the website of the Veterinary and Food Oversight Department of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
According to the World Organization for Animal Health, new cases of African swine fever have been reported in these regions of Poland and Ukraine. This is why additional measures are being taken to prevent the import of live pigs, pork, processed pork products, raw hides, horns, and hooves, raw casings, bristles, wild boar meat, hunting trophies acquired from susceptible animal species, and other products.
According to the Veterinary and Food Oversight Department, it is necessary to take additional control measures to ensure the biological protection of pig farms of all kinds.
