Lukashenko signs decree on transfer to military service in February-May 2018

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has signed Decree No. 21 “On the transfer to the reserve of the fixed-period military servicemen and on drafting civilians for the fixed-period military service and reserve military service”, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

In accordance with the document, Belarusian male citizens of at least 18 years of age who do not have a deferment from the draft or military-age males who have lost a deferment from the draft will be transferred to the fixed-period military service in February-May 2018.

The decree will help satisfy the demand of the Armed Forces, other military and paramilitary units of Belarus for fixed-period and reserve servicemen.

Besides, in accordance with the document, fixed-period military servicemen whose period of service is over will be transferred to the reserve.
