Lukashenko plans to have more meetings with students next year

MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – I am going to have more meetings with students next year, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said when he appointed new rectors of Belarusian universities on 7 December, BelTA has learned.

The head of state pointed out a special importance of university education. In his words, universities train highly-qualified personnel and shape the future of the country in various fields. “In fact, the Administration did not pay enough attention to it, and I was too busy. I have not met with students often in recent time. I am convinced that I will have a number of such meetings next year,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “Indeed, they are our future. Tomorrow they will determine the vector of development in the society.”

The president wants to focus on the issues which are important and will be important for young people and students.

“We remember what problems we faced as university graduates. Therefore, it is very important for me to address these issues in my speeches, to respond to them and make certain decisions,” the head of state said.
