MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – Those who are responsible for the future of the country and its people should not relax their guard, because special services with a wealth of experience are acting against Belarus, President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the Security Council meeting on 18 May, BelTA has learned.
“Do not lower your guard! I know, I see that you are doing a great job, you are in control of the situation, you are responding adequately to the main areas of concern. However, you should keep in mind that highly experienced special services are confronting us today. We are babies in comparison with them. We have to withstand. And we will withstand if we remain vigilant, because the truth is on our side, so is the overwhelming majority of people,” the Belarusian leader said.
“By now, even those who lamented about violence have come to understand the true objectives of those who took to the streets in August; they saw how these people acted. Today we all know what they wanted from us,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
According to the president, that blitzkrieg mutiny, like many subsequent stages, had been thwarted. “I am sure we will overcome all other difficulties. Meanwhile, we should keep in mind that the main thing for us is the economy,” the head of state concluded.
