MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has extended condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of People's Artist of Belarus Sergei Kortes, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Sergei Kortes made a great contribution to the development of the Belarusian culture. For several decades, his name was closely associated with the Belarusian opera. His multifaceted works are famous in Belarus and far beyond its borders,” the message reads.
The head of state noted that the oeuvre of Sergei Kortes is true art based on classical principles and best traditions of the national school. He added that his works set the benchmark for many generations of Belarusian composers.
